4-H winners receive ribbons

Eight-year-old Samantha Dalke from Winfield was at Rimbey’s interclub show and sale held May 11 and 12 in Rimbey. The youngster is one of the Cleaver Kids and is learning all about the care and grooming of young calves and will be prepared to become a regular 4-H member when she is older. The Rimbey Interclub 4-H show and sale was held under blue sunny skies and the youngsters were able to enjoy warm temperatures while participating in the two-day event.

Bluffton 4-H Club steer winners were Josie Burrage (champion), Leah Trenson, (reserve champion). The cow calf champion was Braeden Christiansen and reserve champion was Mackenzie Skeeles.

Winfield 4-H Club steer winners were Nicole Groeneveld, (champion), Jacob Parker (reserve). Jacob also won the cow/calf heifer champion.

Rimbey 4-H Club steer winners were Melissa Waldron (champion), Evan Buist (reserve). The heifer and cow/calf champion was Evan Buist and the reserve heifer champion was Lester Waldron. Caitlin Buist won the reserve cow/calf champion ribbon.

The female interclub heifer champion was Mackenzie Skeeles and the reserve champion was Annie Christainsen.

The grand champion cow/calf winner was Braden Christiansen and the reserve interclub cow/calf winner was Heidi Trenson.

The interclub steer champion was Caitlin Buist and the reserve champion was Alex Stout.

The grand champion steer was purchased by Buist Motor Products and Family Meats from Ponoka bought the reserve champion.
