Aquatic centre popular swimming spot for all ages this summer

Rimbey’s Aquatic Centre is the place to be this summer.

The outdoor swimming pool complex is a great place to enjoy exercise, fun in the sun and a chance to socialize with friends and family.

The complex includes a junior Olympic five-lane outdoor pool, two hot tubs, a spray park and a 4,600 square foot office/change rooms.

Pool managers are Hayley Lush and Mark Hawkings, both senior lifeguards. The managers head a team of lifeguards who are constantly on duty at the pool keep a vigilant eye on the participants, ensuring everyone remains safe and happy.

The schedule in July and August includes Red Cross swimming lessons from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday to Friday. Parent and tot lane swims run from noon to 2:30 p.m. daily. Lane swims are also held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and from 8 to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Public swims runs every day beginning at 2:30. The swim ends at 6 p.m. on the weekends and 8 p.m. during the week.

There is a toonie Tuesday swim on Tuesdays from 2:30 to 8 p.m. and public swimming from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Thursdays. The Value Drug Mart free swim is held Mondays from 6 until 8 p.m.

Junior lifeguard training club is held Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons.

Aquatic fitness includes a cardio tone workout Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday evenings from July 6 to 17. The hours will then change to morning for the remainder of July and August.
