A group of community minded people who wish to remain anonymous have started ‘Guerilla Gardening’ – a movement to beautify public areas that are not care for.
The group’s first project took place on Sun., May 25. The mission was to improve the appearance of the treed bench area between the Treasury Branch and the Game On Outdoors store.
A large amount of debris was removed and the overgrown trees were trimmed. A picnic table previously at the back of the area was moved so that people can enjoy using it in the shade.
The group welcomes anyone interested to join them on Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m. Watch for the Guerilla Gardens sign by Servus Credit Union.
