CARA rodeo a highlight of summer in Rimbey

The thrills, spills and excitement of rodeo action will soon be happening in Rimbey.

This year’s Central Alberta Rodeo Association (CARA) rodeo will be held July 8 to 10.

“It promises to be a great event and we will have more local people taking part than we had for the Foothills Rodeo Association event that we held in the past,” said Hazel Street from the Rimbey Exhibition and Rodeo board.

Wild Rose Shows will bring its midway to Rimbey for the weekend and promises lots of fun and entertainment for the younger set.

The rodeo, which will kick off with a pancake breakfast sponsored by Rimbey Co-op and Servus Credit Union, will be held in the Co-op parking lot from 7:30 to 10 a.m. on Friday.

The rodeo featuring lots of good down home exciting rodeo action will start at 6 p.m. Friday.

The CARA sanctioned rodeo will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday and again at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Each day, rodeo action will be preceded by the grand entry led by the rodeo queen.

A parade, sponsored by the Town of Rimbey, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday.

The Kinsmen and the rodeo board have jointly organized a cabaret featuring Roger West and the Bounty Hunters.
