I just picked up the new Town guide to services and activities and read with great dismay that the dreaded ‘Shoot-Out’ is planned for downtown again!
Mayor Barr seems determined to ignore the pleas to move this horribly noisy, air-fouling event to the racetrack where it belongs. I have already put up with this for several years and will do anything in my power to prevent it from happening here again.
The ridiculous notion that because it brings hundreds of people into town, then my business must benefit. On the contrary, I may as well lock up for that day because they sure aren’t coming to shop in Rimbey New and Used – even if they could find a place to park.
I would imagine that the bars however, do a booming business. So, I guess I can take that really short step to figuring out where your priorities lie, Mr. Barr.
