The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) has announced they are proceeding with a series of open houses to solicit public opinion on routing a proposed electric transmission line in the far west or in the far east of this province.
The AESO has the ability to mandate the use of newer technologies that advances the transmission of electricity in a more efficient manner, which also produces a smaller impact on the environment. We encourage and support AESO’s use of newer technologies providing the definition of a more reliable and efficient transmission system balances the public’s need for electricity transmission stability with lower electricity prices for all Albertans.
