On June 21st, 2014 at 2:37 a.m., Sylvan Lake RCMP were dispatched to the scene of a single vehicle ATV collision north of the Town of Bentley on Range Road 12. Upon arrival, members located an ATV on its side in the ditch of the road but did not immediately locate the driver. As the investigation commenced, and members located a man severely injured approximately 100 metres away from the ATV. RCMP members immediately started CPR on the man until EMS and Bentley Fire arrived on scene and took over.
The man was pronounced dead a short time later on scene by EMS.
The deceased man has been identified as 55-year-old Al Tudhope of Lacombe County. It appears he was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision however it was found a short distance from him when members arrived.
The investigation is continuing.
