Rimbey Agrim Centre was the scene of great rodeo action last Saturday night and more than 200 people crowded into the stands to watch the show.
Cory Glenn, who organizes the Rough Stock Rodeo along with his wife, Stacey, said he was pleased with the event, which was the kick off for the rough stock winter series.
“I was blown away. We had cowboys from all over Central Alberta, real good stock and it was very well attended. I was very, very happy.”
In the novice horse category Jake Plotts took first and Hayden Cole was second.
In the junior bull riding Carter Sahli was first, Dylan Connors was second and third was won by Tyan Mailer and John Koenig.
Chance Barass won the Saddlebronc event, followed by Dawson Dahm and Coleman Watts.
Winners in the bareback event were Jesse Lannin, Tanner Young and Lane Jamieson.
Sheldon Bassett won the bull riding and second and third place winners Jake Maher and Shayne Davis were tied.
Rimbey 4-H beef club ran the concession.
The next event in the series is Feb. 18 at the Agrim Centre and tickets are available at the door.
