Wolf Creek Public Schools trustees met recently with Joe Anglin, MLA for Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre, and Rod Fox, MLA for Lacombe-Ponoka.

“We wanted to congratulate our newly elected MLAs and invite them to learn more about our school division. As fellow elected officials, we wanted Mr. Anglin and Mr. Fox to understand our roles as public school board trustees and the issues we deal with,” said board chair Trudy Bratland.

“It is important for the board to maintain strong relationships with our elected provincial officials. Their support is integral to creating the best possible education system for our communities.”

Several issues were discussed at the meeting including an overview of the school division’s governance model and the role of the board, school fees, AISI (Alberta Initiative for School Improvement) funding, the long-term vision for WCPS, and services for special needs students.
