Two males from Bluffton arrested on smattering of charges

Suspects were apprehended during a break and enter in progress near Carvel

Two male suspects from Bluffton were arrested by Parkland RCMP after a break and enter on March 24, 2021, at a business near the Mink Lake Campground, which is south of Carvel, Alta.

At 1:53 a.m., RCMP responded to the break and enter in progress.

When officers arrived the two suspects were fleeing from the business and they engaged in a foot chase.

One suspect was captured and taken into custody and the second male was caught later by RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS) and arrested without incident.

A loaded firearm and ammunition were located inside the suspect’s vehicle. Both suspects were found to be in possession of a controlled substance.

Shane Black, 26, of Bluffton was charged with breaking and entering with intent, resisting a peace officer, possession of break-in instruments, mischief under $5,0000, two counts possession of a methamphetamine, four weapon offences and seven counts of failing to comply with a release order condition.

Jesse Herman, 33, also of Bluffton, was charged with breaking and entering with intent, resisting a peace officer, possession of break-in instruments, mischief under $5,0000, possession of a methamphetamine, and four weapons offences.

Both of the accused were held for judicial interim release hearings.

Black was remanded into custody. His next appearance is scheduled for April 7, 2021 at Stony Plain Provincial Court.

Herman was released. His next appearance is scheduled for April 28, 2021 at Stony Plain Provincial Court.
