Agnes Doreen Abbott of Winfield, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Friday, December 16, 2016 at the age of 87 years.

Agnes will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her loving children: Cecile (Frank) Erlam of Sherwood Park; Marvin (Ellen) Abbott of Winfield; Judy (Myles) Melin of Buck Lake; and Linda (Mike) Abbott-Simons of Kelowna, B.C.; and her son-in-law, Edwin Stein of Leduc; in addition to thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-nine great grandchildren. Agnes will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by two sisters: Phyllis Kluczny; and Shirley (Don) Laczo, both of Winfield; as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and special friends. Agnes was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Mary Cartier; her beloved husband, Edward; her son, Peter; her daughter, Lorraine Stein; and six brothers: Alfred, Leo, Tom, Emil, Wilfred, and Dan.

A Celebration of Agnes' Life was held at the Winfield Community Centre, Winfield on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Gooderham officiating. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. A Family Interment will be held at the Poplar Valley Cemetery, Winfield at a later date.
