WHITELOCK,

Allen Frank

Jan, 09, 1935 - Sept. 17, 2016

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Allen Whitelock on Sept 17, 2016 at the age of 81 years.

Allen was born January 9, 1935 to parents Grace (Whitelock) Gerwien and Frank Whitelock in Hardisty, Alberta joining his siblings: Cliff Whitelock, Bruce Whitelock, Lyle Gerwien, Fred Gerwien, Carl Gerwien, Ethel Gerwien - Adessa.

Allen married Gloria Booth on January 31, 1958. They made their first home on the Whitelock farmstead in Alsike. Later they settled in Rimbey where they were blessed with their children. Allen and Gloria lived in many different locations in Alberta finally settling in the Rocky Mountain House area.

He is survived by his: children Kim (Kyla) of Leslieville, Kenny of Ponoka and Linda (Dale) Howes of Rocky; grandchildren: Dawson Howes, Travis (Calyshia) Howes, Sara and Jessica Whitelock; great grandchild Wyatt Howes; and daughter-in-law Linda Whitelock of Ponoka and step grandchildren: Carey Keil, Chris (Tegan) Keil, and Curtis (Janice) Keil and their families. He will also be missed by his brothers and sister: Cliff (Audry) Whitelock, and Lyle (Pauline) Gerwien, Fred (Sylvia) Gerwien, Carl (Julia) Gerwien, and Ethel (Franko) Adessa and his Booth brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their families.

Known for his soft nature, and love for animals especially horses. He was a very hard worker and enjoyed a good project that challenged his inventive mind. He could often be found in his shop most nights till the wee hours. He was a work hard and play hard kind of man, he could work all day then get the horses and family loaded up to head out roping or to the nearest rodeo, and then to the dance afterward. He also loved the animals and felt the place was never complete without them. He loved his many lifetime friends that enriched his life and was always ready to help with anything they needed. The coffee was always on and the door always open at Allen and Gloria's house where a many great stories could be told.

A celebration of Allen's life will be held at the Chapel of the Rocky Funeral Home, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta on Saturday October 01, 2016 at 1PM. Cremation has been entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House.

For those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Allen's name, the family has decided on the Good Samaritan Society Clearwater Center in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
