Mr. Calvin Anderson of Rimbey, Alberta passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the age of 49 years.
Calvin was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on March 6, 1959. He moved with his family in the 1970’s to the Rimbey area where he attended the Rimbey Jr./Sr. High School. Calvin completed his schooling in Rimbey and developed a keen interest in mechanics, later obtaining his Heavy Duty Mechanics license. He worked for Nikirk Brothers Contracting, in the oilfield industry as a consultant, and at various other businesses in the area. Calvin was a man full of life who loved the outdoors, and with his camera lens could capture beautiful sunsets, the sincerity of nature, or the intensity of an electrical storm. Besides photography, Calvin possessed many other talents which he enjoyed greatly. He had a passion for building race cars, fishing, and riding his Harley. Calvin also loved spending quality time with his brother, Carey, whether it was going on fishing trips, working jointly on a motor or a new race car, or simply getting together to enjoy each other’s company. Calvin also immensely loved his children and his treasured grandchildren, and he was always a generous and trustworthy friend. “Calvin will be deeply missed … and his memory will be cherished forever in the hearts of his family and his many friends.”
Calvin will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his three sons, Ryan, Ryley and Rory Hayes-Anderson, all of Red Deer; and his daughter, Kori (Sean) Hart of Ponoka; as well as three cherished grandchildren, Dylan, Hunter and Gabrielle. He will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his brother, Carey (Judy) Anderson of Rimbey; his special friend, Kim Lovell of Ponoka; the mother of his children, Wendy Hayes of Red Deer; in addition to his nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Calvin was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Dennis Anderson.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Calvin’s Life was held at the Rimbey Community Centre, Rimbey on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Deborah Laing officiating.
