Cheryl May (Anderson) LANGMUIR

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cheryl May Langmuir of Rimbey Alberta on January 27, 2014 at the age of 54 years. Cheryl was born November 15, 1959 in Rimbey, Alberta. Growing up on a farm east of Rimbey where the seed set for what would be the passion of her life.

Cheryl met Bob Langmuir when she was seventeen and went on to marry him on July 29, 1977 and one year later they were expecting a child. Carmen was born on November 22, 1978. The 3 of them enjoyed life together - spending time with family, riding horses (well maybe not Bob) and always lots of camping and fishing. Sometimes it was hard to believe that she only had one child as she opened her home to all nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters and loved them all just the same.

Cheryl made her home welcoming to all those that came, the coffee was always on and a place at the table was always yours. The happiest days of her life came when her grandchildren were born, first with twin boys who would spend hours camping, fishing and playing with her and then a granddaughter that not only completed the family but proved she could trick Grandma into anything by just smiling.

The passion of her life came through her animals. She was always out tending to the cows and horses no matter what the time or temperature. She was known to say "If you are going to have animals you better look after them". She also spent many years of her life as the coach of the Rimbey Gymnastics Club where she met some outstanding kids that she still spoke about years later.

Cheryl will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband Bob Langmuir; her mother Florence Anderson of Rimbey; daughter Carmen (Trent) Ewasiw of Rochester, 3 grandchildren Carson Ewasiw, Benjamin Ewasiw and Anna Ewasiw along with 3 sisters Kathy (Barry) Maser of Rimbey, Carol Anderson of Rimbey, Morgan (Brendan) Johnston of Thorsby and 2 brothers George (Rhonda) Anderson of Rimbey and Christopher (Joy) Anderson of Thorsby. Along with numerous nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins held close to her heart. She was predeceased by her father Andrew Anderson, John Crookes (special family friend) Jesse Anderson (nephew) and Rashel Anderson (niece).

A Celebration of Cheryl's life was held from the Rimbey United Church on Friday January 31, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Deborah Laing officiating.

If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Stollery Children's Hospital 1502 College Plaza 8215-112 Street Edmonton, Alberta T6G 2C8.
