Mr. W. Earl "Blackie" Clark of Winfield, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the age of 89 years.


Blackie was born in Medicine Hat on March 24, 1923. He enlisted in the RCAF in 1943, and was deployed to England in 1944. Blackie was stationed in Bournemouth, England where he met and was later united in marriage to Eileen Stokes on October 21, 1945. They celebrated 67 wonderful years, and together raised three children. Upon returning to Canada, Blackie was a fireman on the steam locomotives for the Canadian Pacific Railroad, and was later a millwright in the gas industry. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 60 years, and was also a member of the Winfield Legion and Millwrights Local 1460. With heartfelt appreciation the family wishes to thank the kind and caring nursing staff at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre who continue to provide compassionate care to Eileen and who took such good care of Blackie in his last years.


Blackie will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his beloved wife, Eileen; his son, Ken Clark of Calgary; and his two daughters, Leslie (Gary) Wolfer of Clearwater, B.C.; and Susan Clark of Calgary. He will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by six grandchildren: Steve, Mike, Chris, Jennifer, Julie, and Keith; and three great grandchildren: Noah, Chloe, and Sophie. Blackie was predeceased by his

parents, Alan and Agnes Clark.


With respect for Blackie's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Blackie's Memory may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, #101, 6751 - 52 Ave Red Deer, Alberta T4N 4K8.
