GOINGS
Mrs. Edith Mary Goings of Rimbey, Alberta passed away in the Long Term Care Unit of the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Wednesday August 1, 2007 at the age of 92 years with family and caregivers at her side.
Born to William and Lucie Rigby in Rimbey on October 6, 1914, Edith married Glen Goings in 1935. Her sewing skills were legendary and many residents of the Rimbey area were recipients of clothes made by Edith. Edith was a long time member of the Rimbey Church of the Nazarene, serving in many capacities over the years.
Predeceased by her mother in 1919, her father in 1943, her loving husband Glen in 1972, her sister Nancy in 1994, her Aunt Emma in 1982, a daughter Mary Jensen in 2004, son-in-law Alver Jensen in 2000, a granddaughters husband Art Lewis in 2004 and a great granddaughter Ashley McBride in 1989, Edith is survived by her daughter Lois (Harvey) McCrackin, her sons Don (Dorothy), Dale (Lauret) Rick (Joyce), twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Funeral services were held from the Church of the Nazarene in Rimbey, Alberta on Tuesday August 7, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Reverend David MacMillan officiating. Interment followed in the Mount Auburn cemetery.
