Enid Liona Karlstrom of Hoadley, Alberta passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the age of 92 years.
Enid was born on August 30, 1922 on the family farm at Bashaw, Alberta. She was united in marriage to Evert Karlstrom on July 24, 1948. Enid was an avid gardener and quilter, and was also a very talented lady that possessed amazing handiwork with various crafts and sewing projects. Enid will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her three sons: Larry (Helen); Lorne (Lynn); and Dean, all of Hoadley; as well as five cherished grandchildren: Barb (George) Spencer, Carolyn, Leanne, Kristina, and Stewart; and one very special great granddaughter, Athena. She will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by two brothers, Ross (Doris) Albers of Bashaw; and Lorne (Eva) Albers of Ponoka; and her sister-in-law, Eda Satre of Winfield; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. Enid was predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years, Evert in February, 2015; her parents, Emil and Emma Albers; and two sisters, Joyce and Joan. A Gathering of Family and Friends in Celebration of Enid's Life was held at the Liberty Hall on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. with Mr. Walter Loov, hosting. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
