TRENSON

Georges Marcel Trenson of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Red Deer on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the age of 79 years after a short, but courageous battle of cancer.

Georges was born on February 23, 1936 in Dudzele, Belgium, the oldest son of André and Euphrasie Trenson. He grew up on a small farm in Dudzele where he went to school until he was 14 years old, then he went to work. He was in the army for 18 months. Georges married Georgine Vande Ryse, the love of his life, (also from Dudzele) in 1962. Dad's dream was to farm, but with little opportunity in Belgium, he and Georgine immigrated to Canada. They traveled on the Ryndan from Rotterdam to Québec City. From there they traveled by train to Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. Here Georges was employed by McDougal Bros. on a feedlot. After four years in Maple Creek, they purchased a farm in Rimbey and farmed there for nearly 50 years. They raised their family and Dad was proud to build up his farm with his children working at his side. Dad believed in two things; family and faith. His world revolved around both. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humour, his love of hard work, and his ability to work with his hands. He will be cherished in the hearts of his family forever.

Georges will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his beloved wife, Georgine; his three sons all of Rimbey: Marc; Luc (Marian) and their children: Heidi, Ben, Leah, and Tim; and John (Holly) and their children: Erica, Amy, and Todd; and his two daughters, Ann Marie (Larry) Trautman of Rimbey and their children: Monica, Darryl, Jessica, and Sylvia; and Rose Marie (Gerald) Smith of Eckville and their children: Eve, Pierce, and Merrick. He will also be lovingly remembered by his brother, Roger (Marie-Louise) Trenson; and his sister, Andrea (Asere) Tack, all of Belgium; as well as Georgine's Family: one sister, Jacqueline and Pierre (†) Lannoye; and three brothers: Jacques and Georgette Vande Ryse; Georges and Cecile (†) Vande Ryse; and Marc and Martha Vande Ryse. Georges was predeceased by his parents, André and Euphrasie.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Margaret's Catholic Church, Rimbey on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Father Les Drewicki, Celebrant. A Private Family Interment followed in the West Haven Cemetery, Rimbey. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Georges' Memory may be made directly to the 4-H Foundation of Alberta, R.R. 1, Westerose, Alberta T0C 2V0; or to the Central Alberta Cancer Centre, 3942 - 50A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta T4N 4E7.
