Mrs. Helen I. Rutledge (nee White) of Rimbey, Alberta passed away following a courageous battle with cancer at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at the age of 73 years.
Helen was born in West Bend, Saskatchewan on January 6, 1935. She enjoyed doing crafts, gardening and playing bingo, and she loved to spend time fishing with her sons. Helen also enjoyed playing cards, especially when she was beating Chuck at Rummy!

Helen will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Chuck; two sons, Gary Hargest of Rimbey; and Dave (Deborah) Hargest, also of Rimbey; three daughters, Donna Hargest of Yorkton, Saskatchewan; Brenda (Syl) Beriault of Rimbey; and Lisa (Derek) Anseth of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She will also be lovingly remembered by thirteen treasured grandchildren and four cherished great grandchildren; and her brother, Ken (Nettie) White of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Helen was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Arthur White; her first husband, Robert Hargest; her daughter, Linda Ward; and her grandson, Clayton Ward.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Helen’s Life was held at the Rimbey United Church, Rimbey on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Deborah Laing officiating. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Helen’s Memory may be made directly to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, 1502 College Plaza, 8215 – 112 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T6G 9Z9; or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 4730A Ross Street, Red Deer, Alberta T4N 1X2.
