Iva M. Graham of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the age of 64 years.
Iva was born on February 12, 1953 in Edmonton and moved to Rimbey in 1959. Raised in the country, her love for farming continued throughout her life and was demonstrated by her avid participation in many agricultural organizations, including: 4-H, the Ponoka Stampede, the Rimbey Ag Society, Farmer's Market, the Rimbey Women's Conference Committee, the Blindman Valley Propane Co-op, and the Alberta Angus Association.
Iva will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband, Jim, the love of her life, whom she married in 1973. She will also be sadly missed by her cherished friend, Rhonda Fowler of Sydney, Australia, and Rhonda's children, Archy, Mallee, and Rory; Iva's three sisters: Irene (Ken) Grose of Calgary; Carol (Doug) McKie of Edmonton; and Joyce (Wally) Wrubleski of Camrose; as well as Jim's siblings: Ted, Larry, Bruce, Barb, and Sherry; in addition to many nieces, nephews, and a host of close friends. Iva was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Hazel Watt.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Iva's Life was held at the Peter Lougheed Community Centre, Rimbey on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Deborah Laing officiating. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Iva's Memory may be made directly to the 4-H Foundation of Alberta, R.R. 1, Westerose, Alberta T0C 2V0.
