JAMES JOHN GUNN
With sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, James John Gunn, on Thursday March 5, 2015, at the age of 87. He died peacefully in his sleep, with family at his side.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ellamae; sister Doris Upshaw and Frank, of Calgary; daughters Linda, Brenda, Louise and Valeen Gunn; granddaughters Heather Gunn and Talia Chase; sons in law Ray Schmidt, Robin Kramar, and Darren Chase; extended family in Canada, the US and Scotland; and a host of friends.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Ben and Ruth, and his sister Viola Blaney.
He owned and operated Gunn's Clothing store in Provost AB for more than 30 years, before retiring to Devon, and later, Edmonton.
Jim quietly did countless good deeds for others, so in his memory, please consider paying it forward by making a donation to a charity of your choice.
A memorial service will be held at Southminster Steinhauer United Church, 10740 19 Ave Edmonton AB, on Sunday 17 May at 2:30 PM.
