VARTY
Mr. James (Jim) Edward Varty of Rimbey, Alberta passed away in the Rimbey Hospital & Care Centre Long Term Care area 1 on Thursday October 13, 2016 at the age of 98 years.
Jim is predeceased by his wife Hazel in July, 2007; one grandson Randy Carson; his parents Edna and Herbert Varty; brothers Bert, Bill, Earl; and sisters Alice, Dorothy, Elva and Shirley.
Jim is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Gerry) Carson of Rocky Mountain House, and Faye (Walter) Jensen of Bluffton; and two sons, Marvin (Carolyn) Varty of Rocky Mountain House, and Larry (Elaine) Varty of Rimbey. Jim also leaves to mourn 10 grandchildren and spouses; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister Jeannine of Medicine Hat; two brothers, Bob (Sharon) of Rocky Mountain House, and Donnie of Hussar; and three sisters-in-law.
A Celebration of Jim's Life was held from the Rimbey United Church on Thursday October 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Deborah Laing officiating.
