Mr. Keith L. "Gumboot" Freeman of Bentley, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Monday, October 31, 2011 at the age of 83 years.


Gumboot will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his son, Pat (Karla) Freeman of Bentley and their family, Patrick (Bailey), and Alexandra; and his daughter, Bonny (Ken) Olson of Rimbey and their family, Kendra (Doran), Marcy, and Clayton. He will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by two sisters, Norma (Chuck) Burrell of Whitehorse, Yukon; and Lois (Joe) Berze of Bentley; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends. Gumboot was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Selma; and two brothers, Don and Alvin.


A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Gumboot's Life was held at the Bentley United Church, Bentley on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Adam Kilner officiating. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Gumboot's Memory may be made directly to the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Box 440, Rimbey, Alberta T0C 2J0.
