Mary Alice Munro (nee Donovan)
Mary Alice Munro of Anaheim Hills, California has passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 14th, 2012. She was born in Rimbey, Alberta one of nine children to Mike and Clara Donovan. Later married Doug Munro and moved to California. Mary Alice, often accompanied by her family, made numerous trips back to spend holidays and special events with her parents, siblings, family and friends here.
Mary leaves to mourn: her husband Doug, daughter Maureen Barkwell of Edmonton, her three sons Kent (Jill), Gregg (Jennie), Cory (Jennifer) all of California; her grandchildren, Jocelyn, Ryan, Mackenzie, Matthew, Jacob, Clara, Tyler, Cooper, Paige, Cate, and James. She is also survived by her dear mother Clara Donovan of Rimbey, two sisters, Sheila Carlson (Eric Brier) of Red Deer, Helen Twa also of Red Deer; two brothers, Phil (Cathy) Donovan of Floral Park, New York, Dave Donovan of Edmonton. Also she is survived by her sister-in-law Marion (Kent) Knudsen of Huxley, AB; as well as her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mary Alice was predeceased by her father Michael Donovan; brothers, Harold, Donald, and Johnny Donovan; her sister Pat Hillman; her father-in-law Ken Munro, mother-in-law Hilda Munro; son-in-law Kevin Barkwell, and niece Rebecca Carlson.
A Special Memorial for Mary Alice Munro was held at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Rimbey on September 7th at 7:30 pm.
