DONNELLY
Mr. Nelson P. Donnelly of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the age of 90 years.
Nelson was born in Rimbey on May 4, 1918, the eldest child of George and Elisabeth Donnelly. He was united in marriage to Marion on July 30, 1946, and together they raised their family and farmed in the Bluffton area for many years, retiring to Rimbey in 1994. Nelson was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loved his golf.
Nelson will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 62 years, Marion; his two sons, Phillip Donnelly of Ponoka; and Allen (Myrna) Donnelly of Red Deer; and his four daughters, Irene Harding of Sherwood Park; Louise Donnelly (Glen) of Fort Saskatchewan; Andrea (Terry) Zalasky of Sherwood Park; and Carol (Larry) Heringer of Edmonton; as well as fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He will also be lovingly remembered by two brothers, Joe (Margaret) Donnelly of Rimbey; and Gilbert (Audrey) Donnelly of Camrose; and two sisters, Marie Olson of Rimbey; and Leona (Jim) Masson of Sherwood Park. Nelson was predeceased by his daughter, Evelyn Guest; his brother, Dave; and his sister, Fidelas Rainey.
Relatives and Friends were invited to a Prayer Vigil which was held at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, Rimbey on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, Rimbey on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Father Victor Eze, Celebrant. Interment followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Bluffton.
