ROGER DENNIS

Mr. Roger Thomas Dennis of Rimbey, Alberta, passed away at his home on Friday, April 6, 2012 at the age of 49 years.

Roger was born in Wainwright, AB, on December 16, 1962. He and his younger sister, Tracy, were raised by their father, Lee Dennis, with the addition of Judy Dennis, and brothers Ken and Wes coming later. Roger took an early interest in heavy equipment and construction and devoted his entire life to this type of work. He finished off his career as a Spread Boss for NTL Pipelines. Roger greatly enjoyed his work and the many friendships he developed along the way. He was known for his love of music, dancing, his work, and family and friends. Roger married Tracy Bryanton in May, 1985 and they were blessed with the births of Jalane in 1985, Wendell in 1988, and Shayna in 1989. Roger loved his children and grandchildren deeply and his most precious times were times he spent with them.

Roger will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his two daughters, Jalane Dennis (Scott) of Edson, Shayna Dennis (Dan) of Rimbey; and his son, Wendell Dennis (Chelsea) of Rimbey and his three little grandchildren, Kiera, Justis, and Keely; as well as two step grandchildren, Kyla and Curtis. Roger also leaves to mourn five sisters, Tracy Christensen (Murray), Julie Scott (Darrell), Pat Cech (Francis), Lee Cech (Steven), Terry Scott (Gary); as well as his two brothers, Ken Dennis (Kim) and Wes Dennis; his mothers Del Dennis, and Judy Dennis; his grandfather Ken Smithson (Phoebe); his grandmother Rosie Smithson (Delbert); many nieces and nephews; and Diane Chinook, of Rimbey. The pain of his father's passing, in 2009, was eased by the presence of his best friend, Judy Dennis. Roger was also predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Roger's Last Farewell, in celebration of his Life was held at the Last West Hall, Rimbey, on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Shauna Boyce and Shannon Campbell-Boyce hosting.
