It is with love that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, and many other cherished titles, Vera M. Guldbrandsen of Rimbey, Alberta. She was born in Viking, Alberta on June 15, 1936 and passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the age of 79 years.
Vera is survived by her loving children: one son, Bill Needham of Rimbey; and five daughters, Sarah (Tom) Cook of Vanderhoof, B.C.; Donna Gillette of Red Deer; Laura (Harry) Baker of Rimbey; Bonnie (Lloyd) Stevenson of Camrose; and Mary Hummel of Rimbey; as well as twenty grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Gladys Pollard of Courtney, B.C.; Alice Young of Edmonton; and Kathleen Dale of Wainwright; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends. Vera was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Arthur Simmerson; her beloved husband, Henry in 1983; her grandson, Donald Jones in 2015; and her sisters and brothers.
A Public Graveside Service in Celebration of Vera's Life was held at the Buck Creek Cemetery, Buck Creek on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Deborah Laing officiating.
