Dear Editor,

It may be a good idea to clarify something for anyone that may not realize this. The Beatty House is not owned by the town. It was purchased, restored and maintained by a group of community volunteers over the past almost 30 years. It is run by a provincially recognized Society (The Beatty Heritage House Society) and new members are always welcomed.

We usually meet the first Monday of each month, and interested community members are welcome to attend. In fact, we really need new members to maintain this community treasure for the town of Rimbey and surrounding community.

Typically, over the years, board members are largely county residents. This is true of many community groups in town, including the library board. A strong town with strong community groups is not only important to town residents, but also to those of us living in the county.

We have welcomed the monetary support of government; municipal, provincial and federal. Also the support in many ways of many community members. Hopefully, we can all work together (town and county) to continue to make Rimbey “ the envy of many communities” as quoted from the Town of Rimbey website.
