Reader critizes introduction of carbon tax

The carbon tax idea was dreamed up by Trudeau senior in 1980. It brought Alberta to its knees.

Dear Editor,

Thousands of Albertans are losing their jobs and their homes and all the provincial government can think of doing is to slap us with another tax.

The carbon tax idea was dreamed up by Trudeau senior in 1980. It brought Alberta to its knees and the rest of the country as well because the oil and gas industry buys billions of dollars worth of material from other provinces.

Of course, Quebec was barely affected, Trudeau senior made sure of that.

Even Stephen Harper said that a carbon tax is nothing more than a grab tax and does nothing for the environment.

Looking at the provincial and federal governments, a movie comes to mind: Dumb and Dumber!
