Surprise monetary refund received

No. It is not enough to retire to the Virgin islands, not even to Curacao (I still have some old Dutch money)

Dear Editor,

No. It is not enough to retire to the Virgin islands, not even to Curacao (I still have some old Dutch money),  but who knew that being a chocoholic would pay some - albeit very small- dividends?

It appeared some manufacturers of North America’s favorite candy/chocolate bars got together some time ago to do some price-fixing.

Well, they got caught and they ended up in court and the judge told them they had to pay back some of the money they overcharged their chocolate junkies.

It is called a class action lawsuit.

(I always knew they charged me more than they should have, but who am I? Just a little guy in a small town on the Canadian prairies.)

Well, the moment of reckoning arrived last week,

I am now $25.67 richer than I was, thanks to my addiction to chocolate.

If you think there isn’t a moral to this story, I assure you there is.

If you have been wronged and a class action lawsuit has been launched to bring the scoundrels to justice, sign up.

Edo Deweert,

Rimbey
