Bentley Dynamites skate in big arena in Red Deer

The Bentley Dynamite Canucks minor hockey team had an exciting experience. They had the chance to skate at the Red Deer Enmax Centrium during a Red Deer Rebels game.

Head coach Kelly McKinlay reported the Bentley Dynamite team got dressed during the first period and high-fived the Rebels before going out onto the ice between the first and second period. After playing five or six minutes in the big arena, the team high-fived the Rebels team again when they left the ice. It was a unique chance to skate in a big arena in front of a lot of people.

"We have a good mix of kids on the team," stated McKinlay. "We have 18 kids playing this year which is a very high number. This is exciting as numbers for Dynamite were falling the previous few years."

The kids got free admission. Over 100 local supporters were in attendance.

The Bentley Dynamites had been entered into a contest and were lucky enough to have been drawn.

Helping head coach Kelly McKinlay are assistant coaches Pat Madden, Will Kingma and Ryan Walker. Team manager is Heidi McKinlay.
