Ponoka Little League girls softball team won bronze in the Little League Softball Canadian Championships held Aug. 1 - 4 in Victoria, B.C. Ponoka defeated Calgary Voltage 17-2 in the bronze medal game. Rimbey Spartans High School Girls Rugby team defeated Drayton Valley 67-12 on Wed., May 15 in Rimbey. Provincial champs: For the second consecutive year the Bentley Blue Jays U16 girls have won Provincials. In an outstanding display of teamwork and skill the girls defeated Lacombe in the semi finals to go on to finals where they defeated Vermilion. They won five out of six games in the Provincials held July 13 to 15. In the back are Troy Pollitt (Assistant Coach), Taylor Balazsi, Sage Bowen, J’Lyn Bickford, Ayden Pollitt, Mackenzie Dojahn, Hannah Dojahn, Dakota Greenlees, Alyson Pollitt (Assistant Coach) and Grant Pavely (Coach). In the front are Phil Haarstad (Assistant Coach), Caitlyn Cull, Darby Haarstad, Kammy Park, Molly Haarstad, Kaitlin Gillis and Hailey Saretzky.
