4-Hers attend winter camp

By Wylie Pietsch

Skiing was cancelled due to the terrible weather but instead we went swimming and to an archery range on Feb. 18. We had lots of fun swimming and there was barely anybody there. We had a great lunch at Pizza Hut and then we headed to an archery range. At the archery range we used compound bows to shoot at the targets and after a while they put up balloons on the targets. For the last half of our time at the archery we shot at different types of animals on a virtual screen, this was really cool.

Everybody who went on to districts in public speaking did a terrific job, we are very proud of them. It was a very close competition but nobody is going on to regionals.

Wylie, Layne, Emily, and Karla all went to Junior Winter Camp at the Battle Lake 4-H Centre. It was a cold weekend and we all had a blast. There was dancing, snowshoeing, tobogganing, talent show, and many other great 4-H fun activities. Everybody is now looking forward to summer camp.

If you have any used oil or oil containers you can now take them to the Winfield dump the containers are there.

We had our PJ day themed meeting on March 6 and these are some of things we are looking forward to; On March 13 we are going snowshoeing at Crimson Lake and on April 9 we are going caving in Canmore.

4-H now has a Facebook page, look us up. We are also updating our website so keep checking for new exciting things on it.

After or meeting we had a project book workshop and it was very informative. Thank you Mrs. Patten.

Our next themed meeting is on April 3 and the theme is Wacky Hat Day.
