4-Hers wrap-up busy year

.

WYLIE PIETSCH

Alder Flats 4-H Multi Club

We went flying at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum. We had plenty of fun and learned a whole lot about aerodynamics and flight. We all got to go up in a bush plane and fly for about 15 minutes. It was really fun and exciting for everybody.

Alder Flats 4-H Multi club had its achievement day and barbecue sponsored by UFA, and presentation of the award of excellence sponsored by ATB at the Magnuson farm. We had our project books judged and they were all very good. We would like to thank our judges for their hard work judging our project books.

Leah won first for seniors with Logan in second. Sarah won first in intermediates, Amy was second, Gus won third, fourth was Keiran. In the juniors, Layne won first, Wylie second and Emily was third.

ATB’s Linda Davis handed out the Awards of Excellence for our club: Erin Woods received her gold and Logan, Sarah, and Leah all received their silver. Excellent work guys. We had six people win the perfect attendance award: Emily, Sarah, Layne, Leah, Keiran, and Logan.

Thank you to leaders Colleen Magnuson, Patty Reid and Chris Patten; they did an excellent job finding fun stuff for us to do. It was an exciting year. We would also like to thank our corporate sponsors: Alta Link for our communications event, Safeway for providing funds for member and leader training, Farm Credit Canada for the grant for our club to go caving at Rat’s Nest Cave, UFA for our achievement day, ATB for sponsoring the award of excellence, County of Wetaskiwin for Zone 3 and 4 recreation grants, Alder Flats Agriculture Society for use of their hall, and the Alberta 4-H Legacy Fund.
