Finishing off the 4-H year strong

The last couple months have been very busy and lots of fun.

The last couple months have been very busy and lots of fun. Many members enjoyed a ski trip to Canyon. The snow was great and those who went had lots of fun! In March we had our farm tour. Since we have many families we do a virtual farm tour. Everyone’s calves looked great. We also judged a pen of heifers outside, which was very chilly!

We also had district public speaking. From our club Sylvia Trautman placed 1st in seniors and moved on to Regionals. Leah Trenson also did a great job! Our district also had presentations. From our club Kaiden Eadie placed 2nd in seniors and in juniors Carter Eadie placed 1st and Tim Trenson placed 2nd. There were lots of great presenters. Kaiden Eadie also placed 1st at Re- gionals, where he advanced to Provincials and did a great job.

Our mini show was lots of fun and we learned lots. We had fun brushing up on previous skills and learning new ones. We also judged a class of finished steers. Everyone’s steers and heifers behaved well and looked great. We are all super excited for our achievement day.

Recently we had our Interclub live carcass judg- ing. There was lots of steers and they all looked great. Jent Hoekstra and Collin Kyknan judged the steers and did a great job. We all appreciated them coming out.

We will also be going to the Family Meats in Ponoka to look at our carcasses. During show and sale the places will be announced for the fifteen steers. We are all super excited to see how we did.

On May 2nd we also helped with Highway Cleanup. It felt great to help our environment. The ditches look great.

As these next weeks fast approach we are leading, brushing, blowing, work- ing with our projects and doing last minute prepara- tions. We are super excited to show our projects that we have been working on all year. Our show and Sale was on May 10 and 11.
