Dollars for the Rimbey Agrim Centre continue to come in and the building committee is grateful for all the support.

Servus Credit Union donated $25,000 to the centre at the Rimbey Interclub 4-H Beef Club Show and Sale on May 12.

“Agriculture plays a huge role in the lives of so many of or members and communities and it is an important economic driver,” says Darrell White, Chief Operating Officer for Servus. “We’re very happy to help Rimbey build their agricultural future with this donation.”

Rimbey Co-operators donated $50,000 to the centre.

Advisor/owner Darrell Peters said it was important to be involved in the project.

“Co-operators support organizations and activities that build social, environmental, and economic sustainability in our communities.

The Rimbey Agrim Centre will be an important hub in our community for not only agricultural, but also other events which will bring people together and help build a strong and sustainable community.

We are very proud to support the Rimbey Agrim Centre with this sponsorship.”

Ponoka County recently donated $500,000 to the centre. The county has donated a million dollars to the centre this year.

Reeve Paul McLauchlin is excited about the project.

“This project represents agriculture which is one of the key focuses of Ponoka County and contributes to our community.”

Recent donations have also come from Side Street Liquor Store and T & S Farm and Feed Supplies as well as memorial donations.

Shirley Ingram, treasurer for the Rimbey Agriculture Society said “people are stepping forward to help out and we are grateful for all the support.”

The Agrim Centre is almost at the ‘lock up’ stage and work will begin on the mechanical and electrical installations soon, she added.

Part of the facility may be ready for use by November, depending on funding and the progress of construction.
