With temperatures hovering around the freezing point, the grades 1, 2, 5 and 6 students and staff of the Rimbey Christian School picked the perfect time for their inaugural Winter Walk Day, held last Wednesday afternoon. The walk was sponsored in part by the Alberta-based non-profit group SHAPE (Safe, Healthy Active People Everywhere), which promotes a healthy lifestyle as well as encouraging students to take active and safe routes to and from school each day. In total, the walking time for all the students combined was 51.25 hours.
