Pictured above is a scene from the final performance of the year of the play Steel Magnolias, held at the Beatty Heritage House in Rimbey on Sunday afternoon. Set in Truvy’s Beauty Salon in small-town Louisiana, the play revolves around six vastly different women who share their secrets and bare their souls in the salon. The cast of the play, which was directed by Kathy Pfau, included Anna VanHaastert as Clairee Belcher, Wendy Curtis as Truvy Jones, Brenda Restall as Ouiser Boudreaux, Sharon Toews as M’Lynn Eatenton, Sydney Jones as Shelby Eatenton-Latcherie and Shauna Murdoch as Annelle Dupuy-Desoto. As part of the final performance, the sellout crowd was also treated to desserts provided by the ladies of the Beatty Heritage House Society. – Staff
