Another season of riding has come and gone for our club, with members having a fun year and educational year. We would like to extend our gratitude to the businesses in Rimbey who supported our club efforts this season.

We ended our year with the Regional Pony Club show held in Benalto August 29 and 30. Three of our members had a very impressive weekend. Lauren Franklin rode Eternal Semi Moon to a first in Pre-training Dressage at his first show. The pair received second place in 18-inch Cross Rails and two-foot Jump Class giving them a very surprising Reserve Champion Show Jumping award.

Alida Granson placed third in entry-level dressage, riding her new horse Roxy, who only teamed up one month before the year-end show. They rode to a very rewarding fourth place in 12" Cross Rail Class.

Jessica Schwieger and her ever so impressive pony Sparkle placed first in Starter Dressage and first in Starter Freestyle Dressage. She also won the Tack and Turnout Award for the best-presented horse and rider. She also placed second in 12" Cross Rail jumps. Congratulations girls in your achievements this year.

We started out the year in January, meeting at the Blindman Youth Centre to learn about basic horse care theory. The members gathered at Bentley School to meet with other pony club members to participate in the Regional Quiz. While there, members were tested through games and quizzes, and information about the horse and horse trivia.

At the end of April members were ready to ride and began weekly dressage and jumping lessons. There were numerous clinics that the region offered in areas of jumping, pony club games, dressage and horsemanship that were also attended.
