Breton RCMP warn about roads, wildlife

SUBMITTED

Motor vehicle collisions must be reported if there is more than $2,000 damage. This has changed from the $1,000 limit in the past.

We advise if you do become involved in an accident, please obtain an estimate prior to reporting. This will save you time if the repairs are under $2,000, you do not have to fill out an Alberta Collision Report. Speak to your insurance agents for more information.

There have been 16 deer/moose hits, 14 other collisions, five abandoned or suspicious vehicles and six thefts reported this month. There are still many other incidents that are still under investigation.

The highways and weather have been deplorable. Please use caution with your speeds. Blowing snow and glazed road conditions lead to poor visibility and your stopping time will be greatly reduced. Pay attention and stay alert.
