Businessman combines mechanics and meditation

TREENA MIELKE/Rimbey Review

A well-known Rimbey resident who spent time as a teacher, town councillor and businessman has reappeared on the business scene.

Duncan Congcar is re-opening Congcar Services Ltd. as Duncan Lube and Auto Detailing after his building sat vacant for about a year and a half.

Congcar, who is a licensed mechanic with a master’s degree in education, is happy to be back in business.

“I look forward to welcoming all my former customers and I welcome meeting new ones.” Congcar, who is from Thailand and has a black belt in karate, has an unusual approach to dealing with his customers and while he promises great service on vehicles, he also offers to throw in a meditation session for free.

Meditation is a wonderful way to relieve stress and help a person deal with the pressures of everyday life, he said.

As much as Congcar will offer meditation advice, his primary objective is customer service.

“Whether you are looking for someone to do light mechanical wok or auto detailing on your vehicle, I will provide you with my best personal service,” he said.

And Congcar, who taught mechanics at Rimbey High School for 25 years, said he would be more than happy to offer mechanical advice to customers who are unsure what the problem is with their vehicle.

And, as with the meditation advice, Congcar promises not to charge for this service, either.

“I have been with the Rimbey community for over 30 years. From schoolteacher to business owner, I have been continuously giving and receiving support from the Rimbey family,” he said. “Please stop in and say hi.”
