Driver charged with failing to stop

RCMP investigate injury accident

Rimbey, Alberta – On June 14, 2017 at approximately 4:30 p.m. Rimbey RCMP were called to a two vehicle collision on Highway 53 at Range Road 23 that resulted in one driver being transported to hospital with injuries.

Investigation determined that a north bound pickup truck was travelling on Range Road 23 and failed to stop at the stop sign. The pickup truck continued into the intersection and struck a west bound SUV on Highway 53.

The driver of the pickup truck and his child passenger were not injured. The driver of the SUV was airlifted by STARS Air Ambulance for treatment of unknown injuries. There was one other adult passenger in the SUV who was treated at scene and released.

The adult male driver of the pickup truck was charged for failing to obey a stop sign.
