Food Manager Steven Bourgeois of the Evergreen Co-op had a special surprise for long time customer Wade Stuart.
Bourgeois received some tickets to the Edmonton Oilers hockey game and took out fellow Co-op employees Rob Montalbetti and Rick Moon, plus Stuart for a fun time out.
“We took Wade out for supper and took him out to the game and had some fun,” said Bourgeois.
“Wade’s a die-hard Edmonton Oilers fan. He comes into the store every single game day dressed up fully in Edmonton (Oilers) gear and then he comes in every single day to the store and visits with everyone on the grocery side and goes to the home centre and visits with everyone and to the hair salon to visit. He’s just a wonderful guy in town.”
He added that he’s their number one customer.
Even though Bourgeois isn’t a huge Oilers fan himself, he just thought it was a great idea to take (Stuart) as he does so much for the Co-op and always brings in a smiling face, cheering everyone up.
“In Wade’s words it was ‘the best day ever.’”
Stuart even had their whole section cheering at the hockey game, and had Philly fans high-fiving him, even though the Oilers won the game.
“He’s just a very positive, happy person that deserves the world.”
