Father Involvement Initiative coming

Patrick Dillon will be dropping into Rimbey on Fri., Feb. 26 to chat with dads about parenting issues.

Patrick Dillon will be dropping into Rimbey on Fri., Feb. 26 to chat with dads about parenting issues and to talk to service providers to offer suggestions as to how to be sure dad’s get involved.

Dillon, a social worker with the provincial government travels through Alberta talking to dads and social agencies. His role is to promote fathers.

He will speak in the afternoon to service providers.

“I will talk about how to promote dads and how to get them involved in their programs,” he said.

In the evening he will speak to dads, themselves.

“It will be an interactive discussion. I want them to share their stories,” he said.

Dillon is part of the Alberta Father Involvement initiative and will speak at the Rimbey provincial Building in the afternoon to service providers and again at 6 p.m. to the men. Pizza and wings and root beer will be available in the evening.

Dillon is part of the speaker series sponsored by Rimbey Early Child Development Coalition.
