Fingerprints playschool provides fun and education for young children

Fingerprints Playschool celebrated another fantastic year with a year-end celebration lunch.

Fingerprints Playschool celebrated another fantastic year with a year-end celebration lunch on Thursday, May 28.

The playschool year began at the beginning of September with Tuesday and Thursday morning classes while adding a Wednesday morning class in January.

To give you a brief snapshot of our past school year here are a few of the different activities that we have enjoyed.

We have taken field trips to the Co-op grocery department, the Cutting Corner and Flower Gallery, Pas Ka Poo Park and the Fire Station. Animal guests were enjoyed this year including kittens, puppies and a tortoise. Raising our own chicks and ducklings was another fun treat and Speckles, our resident bunny, enjoyed her children friends! Themes this year included exploring dinosaurs, travel, camping, circus and our traditional farm themes.

The classroom was transformed each month to a new theme for dramatic play.

Fingerprints Playschool is located in the Rimbey Christian School building at 4522-54th Avenue where the program has it’s own classroom, access to outdoor playground equipment, indoor movement space, a kitchen, a library, music room and computer lab.

Fingerprints Playschool is a Christ centered play program that focuses on the children’s interests. Programs such as exploring project creations (i.e. woodworking), bonds with “buddies” (school pro- gram), or tantalizing our senses (i.e. cooking) provides a variety of learning avenues. The play day allows flexibility to meet a child’s needs emotionally and socially. All children’s developmental needs are supported in play with specialized services utilized when required.

Classes run from 8:30-11:30 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Call the school at 403.843.4790 for more information in regards to registration for next year – class sizes will be limited to 12 students. Inquire further about our drop in spaces available on Wednesday mornings.

Thank you to all staff, students and parents for contributing to make another year of Fingerprints Playschool a great success!! Thank you to all the Rimbey businesses that opened your doors and allowed us to discover what happens “behind the scenes” – your continued community support is appreciated.
