Thanks to the willing hands of many volunteers, the work of a contractor, fundraising efforts and municipal and provincial funding, the addition to the truck museum at Pas Ka Poo Park is completed.

A grand opening to celebrate the event will be held August 11 at 11:30 a.m. Speeches will begin at noon and it promises to be a fun event with representatives from the Town of Rimbey and Lacombe County on hand.

The president of the Historical Society, Linda Girodat will be present and writer Janette Oke could possibly be in attendance as well.

The addition features many of Janette Oke’s books as well as her original manuscripts, her awards and photos.

Work of local artists are also featured including wood carvings from Darren Jones and a quilt display from local quilters.

There is a gift shop and reading area and administration will move their office to the new addition in the fall.

The addition is 48 X 50 square feet and cost $68,000.
