At our recent meeting there was a good attendance and plans were finalized for the Horticulture and Craft Show, which also includes photography that is becoming very popular.

All judges have been arranged for the show and the final proof of the show program has been completed. We hope that the program book will be ready by the next meeting and the upcoming farmers’ markets.

Plans were made for “Rhubarb Days” that will be held on June 5 and 12 at the farmers’ market. All items of baking and preserves will contain rhubarb and it is hoped that everyone will support our stall.

Arrangements are also underway for a Rose and Lily Show in July, which we hopefully can hold at the farmers’ market.

Four members from our group attended the Alberta Horticulture Convention held in Camrose. One of our members, Grace DenEngelsen, won first prize in the provincial photo contest for her entry in the class for “Border Flowers and Sidewalks.”

The group’s next meeting is May 19 at the Drop-In Centre, beginning at 10 a.m. Anyone interested in gardening is welcome to attend. For information call 403-843-2076.
