Legion members celebrate Canada Day

Canada Day just wouldn’t have been Canada Day without some strong representation from the members of the Royal Canadian Legion, and this year was no exception. In the picture on the left, Legion members officially opened the ceremonies of July 1 at Pas-Ka-Poo Park by presenting their flags much to the appreciation of a large and receptive crowd.

In addition to honouring our country, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rimbey branch of the Legion also made two presentations. Pictured middle, Auxiliary President Joyce Eggleston presents a 50-year membership pin to Doris Walker while on the right; Eggleston presents a cheque in the amount of $1,000 to Kelly St. Denis, administrative secretary of the new Rimbey Hospital project. The funds will be used for the beautification of the grounds around the hospital.
