What happens when someone truly honours his or her passion?

Anna-Mae Sebastian (nee Rondeel) knows. “I never have to work another day in my life,” she said. “There is no difference between work and play when you are truly on purpose.”

Sebastian is the CEO and proud founder of Spirit Seekers Publishing, Inc. As an independent publishing company, Spirit Seekers Publishing is dedicated to helping writers of all genres get their words into print. In the uncertainty of the self-publishing industry, the company aims to support and assist all wordsmiths through the mud and mire of the publishing process.

Sebastian has achieved both national and international attention, representing writers in Alberta, British Columbia, Estonia and England. She just recently published her own book titled, Dance with Me – a beautifully illustrated coffee table book based on a poem she wrote that expresses her view of the joy of living. She also has plans to put out many more works of her own that she has written over the years.

Raised in Rimbey and claiming to be the “youngest at heart” of the 11 children of Frank and Reik Rondeel, she has been a writer for as long as she can remember, winning her first three writing awards in Grade 9 for her Remembrance Day poem. She graduated from Rimbey High School and went on to be a master teacher for 20 years. However, her love of books was never far away and in 2005 she officially launched out on her own with Spirit Seekers Publishing, Inc.

“Inside everyone is a story waiting to be told,” Sebastian said. “But for most want-to-be authors, that book idea is either secretly cocooned in the corner of one’s mind, or it has hit a wall at some phase of the writing process and is now collecting dust bunnies on a dark closet shelf or underneath the bed. My pleasure lies in taking any motivated writer from dust to dust cover.”

Sebastian will be available for book signing at the IDA Pharmacy in Rimbey on August 29 and the public is invited to drop by and visit with the author while enjoying a free beef on a bun.
