Local Synergy Group hosts annual free public barbeque and open house this week

The Rimbey Regional Synergy Group will be hosting their annual free public barbecue and open house in Rimbey.

The Rimbey Regional Synergy Group will be hosting their annual free public barbecue and open house in Rimbey on June 18 at the Peter Lougheed Community Centre.

The event will start at 5 p.m. with the barbecue getting underway at 5:30.

Industry operators and government agencies will have display booths to visit and will be available to chat and answer questions.

At 6:30 there will be presentations starting on the topics of orphan wells, reclamation and remedia- tion. These topics will be of interest to landowners, as it is often asked “what happens when there is no longer a company in place to reclaim and pay for an abandoned well?”

In addition to how the orphan well program works, there will be information on regulatory expectations and industry practices related to reclamation and remediation in general.

There will also be time for the audience to ask questions and the presentation session will wrap up with some door prize draws and more opportunity to visit the display booths and chat with your neighbors.

Besides the opportunity to connect with local industry reps and government agencies, get some infor- mation on the evening’s topic and enjoy a free burger, the open house is a great chance to find out what the local synergy group does in the community.

If you would like more information about the open house or the Rimbey Regional Synergy Group, you can contact their facilitator, Rick Anderson at 403-847-8086, or email rimbeysynergy@gmail. com.
